When to Travel
Cyprus is the hottest, driest island in the Mediterranean. It typically enjoys 340 days of sunshine a year. The peak season for visitors occurs in the summer months of June, July and August, when the mercury rises well above 30 degrees centigrade. Although it is still sunny at other times of year visitor numbers tend to tail off through September.
The rainy season occurs from November through March, with rainfall peaking in December and January. Early season visitors start arriving in late April and May although temperatures are mild at this time of year and the weather can be rather windy.
